Located right behind the Hagi Bus Center, Takadai is a restaurant that has garnered admiration from cultural figures, politicians, and residents alike since its establishment. After you have enjoyed your meal, a licensed interpreter guide will show you around the restaurant’s premises, which has been designated by Yamaguchi Prefecture as a modern Japanese-style building.

Interpreting services are available in English and Chinese.

Founded in 1878, the building and halls of Restaurant Takadai are of historical importance in Hagi. It is currently designated by Yamaguchi Prefecture as a modern Japanese-style building, and under application to be a nationally designated tangible cultural property.
