世界遺産登録5周年 萩観光キャンペーン
萩の世界遺産
萩市を含む8県11市、23の構成資産からなる「明治日本の産業革命遺産」が2015年7月8日に世界遺産登録され、2020年は5周年となります。明治日本の産業革命を主導した長州ファイブ（伊藤博文、山尾庸三、井上馨、井上勝、遠藤謹助）をはじめ、近代日本を切り拓いた若き志士たちにより育まれた「志」は、現在も萩のまちに受け継がれています。
また、萩は、「きものの似合う街大賞」において、初代全国グランプリの栄誉を受けました。城下町の佇まい、古いまちなみなど、日本ならではの美しい景観が残り、着物の似合う萩のまちは、まさに「心のふるさと」です。萩を訪れた方に、先人の志、萩のまちにある心を感じていただきたい、そして、未来に向かってチャレンジする契機としていただきたい、そのような思いを込めて、世界遺産登録5周年を記念した萩観光キャンペーン「日本の志（こころ）がここにある。」を実施します。
In July 2015, five sites in Hagi City received a World Heritage designation as part of a series of twenty-three sites across Japan, known as ‘Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution: Iron and Steel, Shipbuilding and Coal Mining’. 2020 will mark the fifth anniversary of this designation. The ethos of many historical young leaders who laid the groundwork for modern Japan, such as the Chōshū Five, is kept alive today in Hagi, and you can still feel their presence throughout our beautifully preserved Castle Town and feudal samurai residences.
Hagi also was delighted to receive first place in the recent first ever nationwide Kimono-City Grand Prix, meaning that Hagi is considered to be the city which kimonos most suit in all of Japan!
These fantastic achievements have cemented Hagi’s status as a cultural beacon of traditional Japan. 2020 is the year to be in Japan, so come and discover the ethos of Japan in Hagi.
