Yamaguchi Kenritsu Hagi Bijutsukan and Uragami Kinenkan were opened in 1996, with a collection donated by businesspeople from the city of Hagi. The collection at this museum consists of ukiyo-e woodblock prints and East Asian ceramics. The ukiyo-e prints number 4,800 works, including Fugaku-hyakkei (One Hundred Views of Mt. Fuji) and others by Katsushika Hokusai, who influenced van Gogh and Gauguin. Other works in the museums extensive collections include ceramics from 15th century Korea and ancient China.’
